Primary Education - General Information


Attendance in the pre-primary education is compulsory for all children who have attained the age of 4 years and 8 months on 1 September of every year will begin their studies, while in primary school attendance is compulsory for all children who have reached at the age of 5 years and 8 months.

The detailed program of schools and the teaching methods used in the classroom, giving special emphasis to the process of learning and focus on strategies that help students to learn how to learn, as well as how to develop critical and creative thinking.

Also important is the work being done in the Public Education and contribute to the harmonious coexistence of all pupils of a school, regardless of different national origins or each other. Particularly now Cyprus is an official member of the European Union, it is obvious that the Municipal Education substantial work, so that young students to gain from a very early awareness of their identity as citizens.
