The Cyprus Entrepreneurship Competition CyEC2009, is a Business Plan Competition running for the 6th consecutive year in Cyprus. It is organised by the University of Cyprus and sponsored by the Cyprus Development Bank, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism and the Research Promotion Foundation.

CyEC2009 aims to encourage young scientists, researchers and students to transform their innovative ideas into Business Plans for the launch of leading technology-based companies of tomorrow. CyEC2009 is open to teams from countries of the European Union which have an innovative business idea relating to the use of technology and wish to take the challenge.
Prior experience in founding start-ups is not necessary. Participation in CyEC2009 is in itself a learning experience as participants are guided through, step-by-step, in the development of their business plans. A jury of experienced entrepreneurs, academics and investors evaluate the submitted Business Plans and select the winners.

The Winner of CyEC2009 will receive a monetary award of €10.000, the 1st runner up €5.000 and the 2nd runner up €3.500.
 
The Introductory Workshop will cover the aims and objectives of CyEC2009 and give guidelines to the interested parties for participation in the Competition.
