» Allowance for Treatment of Dyslexia

12/12/2008

Perhaps no one knew that children with learning disabilities are entitled to benefit from the Welfare Office. According to the publication of Politis newspaper, all children who have learning disabilities (such as dyslexia) fall in the category of «learning - knowledge disability» and thus can apply for allowance from the Welfare Office. This issue became known when a mother of 13 years old boy, apply to the Welfare Office for allowance to cover the costs of education in the private sector, and her application rejected. Eventually the mother vindicated by decision of the Commissioner for Administration. This decision has the effect of enabling people with learning difficulties to apply to the Welfare Office for an allowance. The fact is that in addition to the facilities provided to these children in public schools, many learning difficulties need the assistance from private educational specialist. This will help children to overcome their problem they face and to be able to monitor better the degree of their education.
